Conflict of Interest Policy
Tools for CongregationsState Requirements
The laws of the State of New York require congregations to establish and maintain a conflict of interest policy (also known as an operational ethics policy). The LCMS Atlantic District has prepared a template for your usage to meet the obligations required under these laws.
This communication includes two templates that your congregation council may utilize.
Policy
The first form is the Conflict of Interest Policy Template. This document includes the details of your congregation's conflict of interest policy. This document may be updated, reviewed, and then approved by your congregation council.

Next Steps
It is not necessary to transmit your completed conflict of interest policy or annual disclosure forms to the LCMS Atlantic District. These documents are solely for the use of your congregation.
Per New York State law, completed annual disclosure forms should be provided to the secretary of the congregation council who shall then provide these completed forms to the president of the congregation council.
