St. John Lutheran Church in Holbrook with her Pastor, The Rev. Dr. George Kirkup, continues to receive many blessings from our Lord. Worship has been enriched with a new organist and the beginnings of a more active music program with more participation in worship both in numbers and in engagement. The midweek Bible Study continues to draw members and non-members to learn more deeply while confirmation classes and Sunday school have been instructing the young. The Nursery School is operating at capacity and continues to be a blessing to the neighborhood. The food pantry serves hundreds of families in need. Several major maintenance projects that had been deferred have been done, even as the congregation asks the Lord’s abundant blessing to update the campus.
St. John Lutheran Church

Over the past triennium, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sayville, pastored by The Rev. Brian Noack, has been blessed through the preaching of God’s Word and reception of God’s precious gifts through the Sacraments of His Holy Church. The congregation has been afforded further opportunities to study the Word through the years as well. The congregations has shared the Lord’s blessings by helping to meet the needs of those in the neighborhood through food baskets that are distributed at various times in the year, as well assistance at the local soup kitchen. Thankful for the blessing of the gymnasium, the congregation’s basketball program continues to be a wonderful way to welcome people from the area into the church. The music program for youth and adults continues to grow. As a congregation, St. John’s is continuing to grow together in lives of faith and in love for one another while drawing new members into our flock. In the next triennium, the congregation prays to reach the lost sheep of the congregation and to those outside Christ’s Church in the area of Sayville and beyond. The congregation also prays to continue to remain faithful doing this work which our Lord has led us to do, and to live faithfully under His blessing, knowing that our Lord is always faithful to us in Christ.
St. Luke Lutheran Church
Dix Hills, NY
St. Luke Lutheran Church in Dix Hills still is enjoying a very vibrant youth ministry and preschool ministry. The congregation is exploring an expansion of the school by four classrooms, based on overwhelming demand and limited space. The Rev. Dr. Thomas Johnson is beginning his fourth year as Senior Pastor and is grateful to be serving such a welcoming and Christ-centered faith community.
St. Paul Lutheran Church
Amityville, NY
St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amityville called Pr. Thomas Cusanelli almost two years ago and he has served this parish since then. Over the past couple of years, the weekly worship attendance has been very steady at 45-60 on Sundays and 20-25 Wednesday nights. Lutheran Service Book was introduced for worship. Meanwhile, Sunday School was restarted and there are 7–12 children each Sunday attending it. There were two confirmands this past year. The Leslie Room on the lower level of the church building was renovated.
