On July 10-11, 2025, the 62nd Regular Convention of the LCMS Atlantic District is being conducted at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Colonie, New York with the theme, In This Hope, We Were Saved from Romans 8:24 ESV.
Each of those six words carries significant meaning.
- We are "In“ this hope through Holy Baptism.
- We are in "this“ hope because it is in Christ Jesus‘ death, resurrection, ascension, and return.
- It is "hope“ because we are called to look to the future based on the past even in our present predicaments.
- "We“ are in this together.
- "Were“ denotes how this was accomplished for us.
- "Saved“ demonstrates that our sinful condition has condemned us and yet Christ Jesus has rescued us from sin, death, and the devil.
The logo for this convention reminds how the crucified and risen Christ brings His people into hope through their baptisms to that they may serve Him in righteousness all their days as they look to the day of His return. It echoes the LCMS convention theme, "We preach Christ crucified,“ and the LCMS mission emphasis, "Making Disciples for Life“ along with the theme of the LCMS Atlantic District, "Engaging the World with the Gospel of Hope.“
