Grace, mercy, and peace to you in the name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
It is with heartfelt joy that I bring greetings from Martin Luther School in Queens, New York. As a Christ-centered learning community serving grades 6–12, we remain deeply committed to our mission: to bless and lift every person to their highest potential through faith, academic excellence, and service.
We are especially grateful for the unwavering support of the Atlantic District. Your prayers, encouragement, and partnership help us remain a stronghold for Lutheran education in the heart of New York City. Together, we are ensuring that a vibrant Lutheran high school presence continues in the five boroughs—now and for generations to come. We thank God for you.
Current Ministry and Growth
The Lord is doing powerful things at Martin Luther School:
- Spiritual Renewal: Each day begins in prayer and the Word. The love of Jesus is at the center of our teaching, our culture, and our community.
- Academic Excellence: Our students are thriving in rigorous programs that include AP, Honors, and dual-credit courses. Looking ahead, we are actively expanding offerings in the arts, music, and choir, with a deep commitment to faith integration across every subject area. We are intentionally elevating our curriculum and making strategic investments to strengthen and grow in all areas—ensuring a holistic, Christ-centered educationthat continues to expand and equip students for the future.
- Faith in Action: Our students are actively serving through outreach, mentorship, and campus ministry, becoming young Christian leaders.
Expanding Mission through Partnership
We are excited about our growing partnership with Our Saviour Lutheran School in the Bronx, working to bring together the best of academics and athletics at our Martin Luther campus. This collaborative effort opens new doors for students to grow in Christ, develop their gifts, and pursue excellence across all areas of life.
Preparing Future Church and Ministry Workers
A vital part of our calling is to develop future leaders for the Church. We are actively building pathways for students to pursue Lutheran higher education and encouraging young people to consider vocations in ministry, teaching, and service. It is our prayer that Martin Luther School continues to be a place where future pastors, teachers, missionaries, musicians, and lay leaders are formed and sent.
Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, we are advancing a number of exciting initiatives:
- Media & Technology Upgrades: Launching a 21st-century broadcast and production center for student storytelling and content creation.
- Technology Infrastructure & Student Devices: Ensuring full access to digital tools and connectivity through Chromebooks and smart classroom upgrades.
- Urban Agriculture & Sustainability: Expanding our greenhouse program to include vertical farming, aquaponics, and beekeeping for hands-on STEM and sustainability education.
- Nutrition & Food Pantry Program: Supporting wellness and food security for families in our community.
- Gymnasium Floor and Facility Enhancements: Creating welcoming, modern, and safe spaces for physical education, athletics, and community use.
All of these initiatives serve our central purpose: to prepare students for lives of faith, leadership, and purpose—equipped to impact the world and bring glory to God.
We ask that you continue to lift this great ministry in prayer. Pray for our students, faculty, families, and leadership. Pray for God's provision and for His Spirit to continue renewing Lutheran education in New York City and beyond.
