Greetings on behalf of the LWML – Lutheran Women in Mission!
As one of the two official auxiliaries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod we are privileged to extend the mission reach of the church. LWML Past President Debbie Larson once shared, “Much is accomplished, by the grace of God, through LWML Mission Grants given willingly and accompanied by prayer.”
Our partnership, however, goes well beyond the dollars and the prayers. Ask any pastor or church worker who works with — and is supported by — Lutheran Women in Mission. We have hearts and hands for service! And we are so blessed by the support of many pastors and church workers, including President Rev. Dr. Dien Ashley Taylor.
God is certainly at work in the Atlantic District! I was blessed to participate in the 2024 LWML Atlantic District Convention with President Deaconess Raquel Rojas presiding. What a joy! Since then, five new LWML groups have been formed in the district. Your Lutheran Women in Mission joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and honor God by serving others, which is our mission statement.
At our 41st Biennial Convention June 26–29, we ended one biennium and began another. We closed with all 31 selected mission grants funded — over $2,350,000 — to spread the Good News of salvation in Christ through mission work across the globe. We begin a new biennium with renewed purpose, moving forward with thoughtful planning, and Christ-centered as we engage women of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in missions and service.
We pray for God’s faithful provision as you meet in convention and share the hope in which we were saved. May all that we are and all that we do be to the glory of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20–21).
