Thank you! We are grateful for our partnership with the churches, schools, workers, and leaders of the LCMS Atlantic District. Our ministry depends on your support and we cannot do this without you.
This has been an exciting year for The Lutheran Counseling Center, a time of growth and change. We have a new Executive Leadership Team consisting of Dr. Elizabeth Geiling, LMHC, Reverend Dr. Thomas Taylor, LCSW and Kathy Siemann.
We continue to assist families and individuals in need of mental health services. The Lutheran Counseling Center is a unique ministry of the church with our primary mission to make faith-based psychotherapy available for people in need of healing. Each year we provide about 5,000 counseling sessions, with one-third being subsidized through donations and grants given by our partners in ministry. Without this support, many people would be unable to afford much needed counseling services.
The fees are based on a sliding scale, and we are also able to bill insurance and we accept Medicare. Many congregations support us and their members through our MAP program. www.lccny.org
All of our clinicians, many who are ordained clergy, share healing in the name of Jesus and provide the assurance that God is with them in their struggle. Mainstream counseling often neglects the role of spirituality in healing. This type of faith based healing is needed now more than ever. We are accessible through telehealth platforms that extend our ability to meet with people. Our in-person sites are based in Bronxville, Mineola, NYC and Long Island.
