Greetings from the LCMS English District
In the name of Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen, and ascended LORD, who is not dead but alive, who is not in the tomb but is with us, here and now, with His love and His power as He lives and rules at the glorious right hand of God our Heavenly Father. Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in the LCMS Atlantic District.
I bring you greetings from the 160 congregations and 280 pastors of the LCMS English District. It has been a joy to work with you in serving our Lord Jesus Christ as sister districts of our synod. I have especially enjoyed the wisdom and encouragement of your Bishop/DP The Rev. Dr. Dien Ashley Taylor. Our seats at the Council of Presidents meetings are in proximity and so we often chat and confer during the meetings. He is a faithful brother in Christ and a wonderful leader in our synod. Your district is blessed to have him.
Our English District Convention this year is based on Galatians 2:20 and the theme is ‘Living Our Baptized Lives in Christ’. We are seeking to remember our baptisms, give praise and thanks to God for the new life we’ve received, and in repentant faith live out the new life we’ve been given.
We pray that the Holy Spirit guides your district as you meeting in convention that all would be done to the Glory of God’s Holy Name and the furthering of his Eternal Kingdom.
